Elizabeth B. Stein, 90, of Marcy passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. Elizabeth was born in Utica on May 19, 1918 a daughter of Edward and Barbara (Kloster) Geer. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College. In Utica Elizabeth married George Stein. Mr. Stein passed away in 1988. For several years she was employed with the Horrocks Ibbotson Co. and later the General Electric Co. Throughout her life Elizabeth had many hobbies especially, ceramics, needlepoint, knitting and painting. Her family will miss the many treasured articles she made for them. Most of all, Elizabeth loved spending time at the family camp on the St. Lawrence River. Elizabeth is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Jeanne and James Horth, Utica and Ferne and Francis Klein, Marcy with whom she resided, three sons and two daughters-in-law; Robert and Vivian Stein, Clyde, NY, George Stein, Utica, and John (Jeff) and Bozena Vail, Niagara Falls, NY. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by a son; Donald Stein, a grandson; Robert Stein and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Stein's funeral will be held on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 10:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica and at 11:00 from St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral are Thursday from 4-7.
