Obituary of Ralph W. Bush
Please share a memory of Ralph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ralph W. Bush, 90, of New Hartford passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Presbyterian Home. Ralph was born in Syracuse, NY on July 23, 1918 the son of Edward R. and Edna A. (Baker) Bush. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Ralph served in the Army during World War II. In Utica in 1937 Ralph married Pauline M. Hartlieb a blessed union of 62 years until her passing away on July 14, 1999. For over 30 Years he was employed with the Remington Arms Co. Ralph had many admirable qualities. Outstanding was his love of family, immediate and extended, and especially his sixteen (and counting) great grandchildren. Everyday, as he sat in his recliner, he looked lovingly at pictures of the great grandchildren taped to the closet door next to him. He would comment on how beautiful they all were and how blessed he was to have them and such a wonderful, loving and big family. Ralph's generosity of spirit and material giving reached throughout and far beyond his family. Ralph valued and emphasized education. Self educated, he worked hard to provide the means for all his children to receive the education they wished. He loved music, especially classical, and in particular, opera and Luciano Pavarotti and spent much time listening to his Bose. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and tennis and was an avid gardener. He loved flowers throughout his life. The family wishes to thank the caring staff on Maple Wing of the Presbyterian Home, the professional and loving staff who cared for him on the fifth floor of St. Luke's Hospital, his doctors and , in particular, his primary doctor, Daniel Goodman. Most especially we thank the Presbyterian Residential Community where Ralph was cared for by the dedicated and loving staff he called "family" in his cherished apartment. Ralph is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law; Bonnie and Robert Loomis, New Hartford, Deanna Bush, TX, Patricia Chambers, Baldwinsville, NY and Susan and Allen Wolfe, Sauquoit, a son and daughter-in-law; Ralph W. and Donna Bush, MA and a brother; William R.
