Margaret Loretta James (Maggie), 92, a resident of the Sitrin Nursing Home, New Hartford, formerly of Utica, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2008. Maggie was born in New Hartford on July 22, 1916. She was raised and educated in Sauquoit. Maggie was married to the late Arthur C. James. Besides being a loving mother to seven children, Maggie was employed as a sewing machine operator until her retirement. She is a former member of Olivet Presbyterian Church in Utica. Maggie is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Joseph Kowalczyk, Utica; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne Monaghan, Whitesboro, Kenneth and Elizabeth James, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert James, Texas; a daughter-in law, Jeanette Miller, and her children; grandchildren, Melissa Van Hatten, Frank Kowalczyk, John James, Patricia Wallace, Kate Monaghan, and Andrew Monaghan; great grandchildren, Kori Denslow, Allison Van Hatten, and Joey Kowalczyk. Also surviving is one sister-in-law, Marjorie Jones, FL. Maggie is predeceased by three sons, William Monaghan, Arthur and Dennis James. Funeral Services for Margaret James will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning, from 9 - 10 am prior to the service. Those wishing may donate to the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204 in Maggie's memory. Maggie's daughter would like to recognize and thank the caring staff of the Sitrin Nursing Home, especially Sue Stewart, Wendy Braner, Michelle Flike, Sharon Margot, and Shirley Oddy, as well as personal aides Tom Ward and Cazim Ljubyank for the loving care and compassion given to Maggie during her stay.
