Mr. Wayne T. Jennings, 64 of Utica passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2008 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford with his loving family by his side. Wayne was born in Utica on February 8, 1944 the son of Archibald and Larelda (Schabot) Jennings. He was raised locally, was a graduate of Whitesboro high school and attended MVCC. Wayne honorable served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. On June 22, 1968 Wayne married Sharon A. Buczek at Sacred Heart Church in Utica, a devoted union of 40 Years. For 30 Years he was employed with Niagara Mohawk Company retiring in 2004. Wayne was a member of American Legion Post 1113, Whitesboro, Knights of Columbus Utica Council 189, the Knights of St. John's, the Gaslighters at Niagara Mohawk and was a parishioner of St. Mary Mt. Carmel-Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica. He enjoyed walking and puttering with odds and ends around his home. Mr. Jennings is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; one daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Ken Williams of Utica; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Jennings of Utica and Chad Jennings of Utica; five cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Anthony, Delaney, Kerianna, and Christopher; one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Joe Morehead of Rome; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Edward and Janice Jennings of Utica, William and Linda Jennings of Vernon and Grace Jennings of Utica; two special nieces, Donna DeHart and Melissa Vallejho and a brother-in-law, John (J) Buczek and his friend Cindy Martin. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Donna Jennings and a brother Richard Jennings. Mr. Jennings funeral will be held on Monday September 8, 2008 at 10:45 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 11:30 at St. Mary Mt. Carmel-Blessed Sacrament Church where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday 4:00-8:00 p.m. Please omit floral offerings and consider a donation to the American cancer Society in Wayne's memory.
