Raymond G. Biggs, Jr., 88 of Utica passed away at home on Sunday August 31, 2008. Raymond was born in Utica on August 27, 1920 a son of Raymond G. and Mabel (Priestly) Biggs, Sr. He served in the Army during World War II. In Utica on September 24, 1949 Raymond married Margaret (Peg) Mantor. For many years until his retirement in 1982 he was employed with the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post #229 and the West Side Seniors. Raymond is survived by his wife, Peg, a daughter and son-in-law; Renee and Robert Cooley, New Hartford, four sons and daughters-in-law; Richard and Angela Biggs, Utica, Robert and Susan Biggs, Coldenham, NY, Russell and Karen Biggs, Cohoes, NY and Robert and Judy Wallace, NC, seven grandchildren; Richard Biggs and Fiancee Tina Laramie, Jason Radell and wife, Kate, Adam, Carla, Ashley, Raymond, and Jonathan Biggs, a great grandson; Michael Radell, an aunt; Peg Redmond, Utica and many cousins, nieces and nephews, Raymond was predeceased by three brothers; Walter, Kenneth and George Biggs. Mr. Biggs' funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11:00 am from St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 25 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica are Tuesday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care Inc.
