Rosemary Lourdes Mott, 86, a resident of the Masonic Care Community, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. Rosemary was born in Utica on March 27, 1922, a daughter of Timothy and Mary (Boone) Slade. She was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy and the Utica School of Commerce. In Utica on October 26, 1946, Rosemary married Wallace R. Mott in St. Francis de Sales Church and shared a blessed union of 37 years, until he passed away on March 19, 1983. For many years, she was employed at Sunset School in Utica. Until her later years, Rosemary belonged to a card club that was formed with her high school friends. Rosemary always received much happiness from taking care of her family and watching them enjoy her cooking which she loved to do. Rosemary is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Karen and John Hennessy, Syracuse; her two beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Christine Mott, Marcy and Kevin and Maureen Mott, Sierra Vista, AZ; a sister, Johan Leach, New Hartford; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Hilda Slade, Utica, and a sister-in-law, Phoebe Slade, New Hartford. She is also survived by 8 cherished grandchildren, 5 cherished great grandchildren, 6 nieces and a nephew. Rosemary was predeceased by her beloved son, Daniel F. Mott and her brother, Timothy Slade. Mrs. Mott's funeral will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at 10:15 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 11:00 am from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 4 - 7 pm. Those wishing may make donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Rosemary's memory.
