Louise S. Rudka, 83, of the St. Luke's Home and formerly of Deerfield passed away Thursday July 10, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. Louise was born in Poland, Europe on November 18, 1924 a daughter of Walter and Sophie Chynal. On February 16, 1946 at St. Mary's Church, New York Mills Louise married John Rudka a blessed union of 48 years until his passing away on September 1, 1994. For many years Louise was employed with the Con Med Corp. She was of the Catholic faith. Louise always found much enjoyment in gardening and she also had a tremendous love for animals. Louise is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Gail and Fred Murphy, Utica and Dawne and Vincent LaPaglia, Rochester, NY a son and daughter-in-law; Eric and Claire Rudka, Deerfield, five grandchildren and spouses; Shawn Murphy and wife Chrystal, Christopher Murphy and wife Amy, Richard Rudka, Amy Rudka and Matthew LaPaglia, five great grandchildren; Connor Murphy, Brittany Murphy, Christopher John Murphy, Cody Murphy and Chloe Murphy, a sister and brother-in-law; Helen and Donald Lopata, Hammondsport, NY and many nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her son Robert J. Rudka in 2002 and twin grandchildren; Bryan and Sarah Rudka in 1987. Private funeral services for Mrs. Rudka will be held at the convenience of the family. Those so wishing may make donations to the St. Luke's Home in Louise's memory. The family would like to thank Dr. Emile Wassel and his staff and the staff of the St. Luke's Home for all the loving care they gave to Louise.
