Mr. R. Michael Quinn, 73, formerly of Marcy NY passed away on Thursday July 10, 2008 in Rome NY at the home of his beloved daughter Michelle. His loving family was by his side at the time of his passing. Michael was born in Utica on December 29, 1934 the son of Arthur and Jean (Bonner) Quinn. He was raised locally, attended St. Joseph grade school and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On July 2, 1955 Michael married the love of his life, Patricia A. Sansone at St. George's Church in Utica. His loving wife passed away in 1988. He later married the former Ella Phillips. For 35 years, Michael was employed with the Utica Water Authority until his retirement. After retirement he owned and operated Michael Quinn & Son Plumbing in Utica, retiring from there in 2000. He was a member of the former St. George's Church in Utica and currently a parishioner of St. Joseph St. Patrick Church, Utica. Michael was and avid hunter, fisherman and a past president and coach of Marcy-Deerfield Little League. Mr. Quinn is survived by two daughters, Patricia Quinn of Utica and Michelle Hyer and her fiancee' Paul Rodzinka of Rome; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Judy Quinn of Rome; five cherished grandchildren, Patricia Hyer, Robert Hyer, Michael Quinn, Jr., Kimberly Quinn and Naomi Quinn all of Rome; one sister, Rita Zegarelli of Utica; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Maryann Quinn and William and Geraldine Quinn all of Utica; his Goddaughter and special niece, Dorothy Siedsma, Ilion and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Carol Quinn in 1999, three sisters, Dorothy Siedsma, Lucille Hart and Bernice Peach, one brother, George Quinn and two special canine companions, Skip and Smokey. Mr. Quinn's funeral will be held on Monday July 14, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph St. Patrick Church where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery in Whitesboro. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 5:00-8:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
