Winifred Schrader Meadow, 86 a resident of the Charles T. Sitrin Nursing Home, New Hartford and formerly of Richfield Springs, passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2008 at the nursing home. Winifred was born in Whitesboro on May 1, 1921 the daughter of Charles and Rose (Besig) Renwick. On November 22, 1947 Winifred married Burnell Schrader in St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, a union of 32 years until Burnell's death in January of 1979. On December 29, 1983 she married Dr. Jerome Meadow. Jerome died in December of 1998. For many years she was employed with Mele Manufacturing in Utica, until her retirement. Winifred was a member of the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department women's auxiliary, a past member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Whitesboro and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Winifred is survived by one brother and two sisters-in-law, Francis and Doris Renwick, Whitesboro and Gladys Renwick, NY Mills and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and five brothers. Mrs. Meadow's funeral will be held on Thursday (today) April 3, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will be held in New Forest Cemetery, Utica at the convenience of her family. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday (today) 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Those so wishing may consider a donation to the Yorkville Volunteer Fire Department in Winifred's memory.
