Veronica M. (Shea) DuKette, 93, of North Utica passed away Friday February 9, 2007 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Veronica was born in Utica on April 15, 1913 a daughter of George and Barbara (Wohlfert) Shea. In Utica on August 25, 1933 Veronica married Leo J. DuKette. Mr. DuKette passed away on July 13, 1979. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Veronica is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and John Guerrera, Prosperity SC, Joan and Joseph Borgia, Utica , Nancy and Joel Waters, Orlando, FL, a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Martha DuKette, Marcy, seven grandchildren and spouses, Deborah and Michael Womick, Lisa and Earl Baker, Barbara McKennan, Laurie and Walter Butler, David Borgia, Joseph and Julie Borgia, Jr., and Joseph Michael Guerrera, a niece, Geraldine and Adam Weigand, West Seneca, NY and six great grandchildren. Veronica was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Guminiak in 2001, a sister, Elizabeth Kennerknecht, a brother, George Shea, a sister-in-law, Vivian DuKette and a brother-in-law, Rev. Jerome DuKette, OFM Conv. A funeral mass and burial will be announced later in the spring. In keeping with Veronica's wishes there are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to a charity of your choice in Veronica's memory. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Joseph Booth and staff of the Deerfield Family Practice and the special care nurses of St. Elizabeth's, especially, Jennifer, Kathy, Paula, Ann and Christy for all the loving care the gave to Veronica.
