Theresa Dana, 83, of Utica, formerly of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford. Theresa was born in Nashua, NH, on June 25, 1924, the daughter of George and Emma (Levesque) Shea. She was raised and educated in Nashua and moved to Utica in 1959. She worked as the secretary to the president of Mele Manufacturing Company for over thirty years, retiring in 1990. In 1980, Theresa's union with Louis S. Dana was solemnized at St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Mr. Dana passed away in 1996. As well as being a member of St. Peter's Church, she belonged to their Alter Rosary Society, Funeral Ministry, and was a lector and choir member. She was a lifetime member of the YWCA, having served on its Board of Directors and former Board of Trustees. She was also a thirty year member of the YWCA Business and Professional Women's Club. Theresa is survived by a sister, Jeanne Reysen, Florida; her Goddaughter, Laura Wizes, Arizona; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and their children and grandchildren. Mrs. Dana's funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 10:00 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road and 10:30 am at St. Peter's Church, North Utica where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A spring interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, North Utica will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 ? 10 am, prior to the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to the St. Peter's Memorial Fund or to the Rescue Mission of Utica.
