Susan J. (Richards) Galindez went home to with our Lord on Sunday February 24, 2008. Susan was born in Utica the daughter of the late Ralph and Harriet (Beverly) Hodinger and attended Utica schools, graduating from UFA. She has held numerous employment positions specializing in secretarial work. Her career started with the New York Telephone Company as a business's office representative and other private secretarial positions. Most recently she retired from the Partners Trust Bank formerly known as SBU and The Savings Bank of Utica in 2007. Susan was married to the late Ellis M. Richards in October of 1953. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Veronda and her husband Christopher of Fairport, NY, and Barbara Richards of Whitesboro, NY and a son and his wife, Stephen and Wendy Richards of Rochester, NY. She also leaves four loving grandchildren, Rachael Veronda, Kimberly, Bethany and Jack Richards. Susan was predeceased by her brother, Richard Hodinger of Rome, NY. Susan was married to Peter Galindez in 1992 and leaves a stepson, Daniel Galindez of Fonda, NY and predeceased by her stepdaughter, Diane Creaser, formerly of Rome, NY. She also leaves two step grandchildren, Eric and Shannon Creaser of Rome, NY. Susan also leaves a special and devoted friend and acting saint known as Jean Pierce and another caring family of recognition is that of John Jecko Sr. One of Susan's greatest enjoyments was the love of music. She sang with various choral groups and many church choirs. She sang for many weddings and other festivities including many American Legion functions such as opening banquets' and accompanying celebrations of patriotic band and vocal renditions. Susan was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 26, Clark Mills, NY. Susan's funeral will be held on Thursday February 28, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Park Ave., Whitesboro. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica, are Wednesday from 3 ? 8.
