Mr. William L. Schorer, 90, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. William was born in Utica on March 2, 1926 the son of William J. and Pricilla (Christine) Schorer. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. William honorably served in the US Navy during WW II. On April 23, 1955, William married Pauline M. Pfeifer at St. Joseph's Church in Utica. For many years, he was employed with Utica State Hospital and Utica Concrete. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica, a member of Utica Maennerchor and enjoyed fishing and working. Mr. Schorer is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline; two daughters, Jody Hall of Utica and Christine Schorer of Frankfort; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Schorer, William K. Schorer, Carl Schorer and Joseph and Deborah Schorer all of Utica; a nephew, John Schorer of West Winfield; our special friend, Carol Graves of Utica as well as 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Schorer and son-in-law, Leo Hall. Arrangements, entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica will be held at the convenience of the family.
