Ronald P. Alberico, 70, of Utica, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Ronald was born in Utica on July 10, 1937, the son of Joseph and Mary Jane (Brescia) Alberico. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Utica Free Academy. In 1954, Ronald joined the US Navy and served his country during the Korean War. On April 29, 1957, Ronald married Virgie Spence in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was employed as a chef at St. Luke's Hospital and later at St. Elizabeth Hospital until his retirement in 1984 due to his health. Ronald was a former member of St. Ann Church in Hinckley. Ronald will always be remembered for his passion for cooking. Ronald is survived by his wife, Virgie Alberico, Utica; his daughter and her companion, Robyn Alberico and Michael Magee, Stittville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald Alberico, Jr., Georgia, Joseph and Joanne Alberico, Virginia, Jeff Alberico, Barneveld; 10 beloved grandchildren and one cherished great granddaughter; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Rose Marie Clark, Holland Patent, Frances Conway, Pennsylvania, Sylvia and Jeff Barlow, Oneida; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Alberico, Floyd. He is predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Robert Alberico. Ronald's funeral will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 10:30 am at St. Mark's Church, North Utica, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family will be greeting guests at the church from 10:00 ? 10:30 am, prior to the Mass. Interment will take place in Olden Barneveld Cemetery, Barneveld, NY. Those wishing may donate to the American Heart Association in Ronald's memory. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica.
