. Robert E. Walsh, 76 a resident of the Loretto Utica Center, formerly of the Macartovin Apartments, Utica passed away on Saturday November 3, 2007 at the nursing home. Robert was born in Utica on January 14, 1931 the son of Robert J. and Margaret (Wald) Walsh. He was raised in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy and earned his associates degree in mechanical technology from MVCC. Robert was employed with the City of Utica in various capacities including the engineering office with the Utica Water Board. Robert was a 40 year honorary member of Knights of Columbus council 189, Utica, a member of the MVCC Alumni Association and a parishioner of Historic Old St. John's Church, Utica. Mr. Walsh is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Mary Louise Walsh, Whitesboro and John and Eulalia Walsh, Guam and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Margaret and a sister, Martha Walsh. Mr. Walsh's funeral will be held on Tuesday November 6, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 10:00 at Historic Old St. John's Church where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Mr. Walsh's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ann Wald Tabrizi for the many years of loving care you provided to Robert.
