Rosemary L. McGauley, 90, a resident of three years at the Presbyterian Home for CNY, New Hartford, formerly of Oriskany, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the home. Rosemary was born in Utica on March 20, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Kernan) Burmeister. On February 27, 1954, she married George McGauley in Utica. Mr. McGauley passed away on April 30, 1973. Rosemary was employed at the Eastern Star Home in Oriskany until her retirement. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church, Oriskany. Rosemary is survived by two nieces and their spouses, Patricia and Fred Reuter, Ohio, NY, Mae and Paul Smith, Rome, NY, as well as by several great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are several dear friends, Frances Smith, Whitesboro, and Sid and Elizabeth Copperwheat, Oriskany. Rosemary's funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica at 11:00 am with Rev. Joseph Salerno presiding. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours. Those wishing may donate to the American Diabetes Association in Rosemary's memory. The family extends their thanks to the nurses and staff of the Aspen Wing of the Presbyterian Home for CNY for the gentle care given to Rosemary during her stay.
