Georgene Mae Reuther Utica Georgene Mae Reuther, 83, formerly of Butterfield Ave., Utica, passed quietly into the presence of the Lord in the ICU of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center on Good Friday, April 6, 2007. She was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Arthur G. and Emma Lester Crawford on August 20, 1923. Georgene attended the Bradford, PA school system and Nyack College as a Christian Ed. major. In Buffalo, NY in 1948, she was married to Lewis Paul Reuther. She was a member of Hope Alliance Church for over 40 years where she served as Deaconess, Sunday school teacher and choir member. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Georgene is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Paula Reuther of Utica, Lori and her husband, Paul Cragg of Buffalo; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and his wife, Cheryl of Durham, NC, and Lewis and his friend, Paula Williams of Utica; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Hattie Crawford, Arthur and Marie Crawford, all of Buffalo; and a sister, Patricia Jones of Georgia. She also leaves 11 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lewis Paul in 1989; and her son, Charles in 1997. Mrs. Reuther's funeral service will be held at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, Wednesday, April 11th, at 10:30 a.m. with the Pastor Robert Short officiating. Her burial will take place in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday evening (today) from 6 until 8. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association.
