Philip J. Sacco, 86, of Deerfield, passed away Tuesday December 11, 2007 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Philip was born in Utica on May 19, 1921 a son of Moses and Angeline (Defazio) Sacco. Philip proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. At St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica on October 23, 1954 Philip was united in marriage to Greta Butts. She passed away on May 21, 1991. For over 50 years until his retirement Philip was employed with the Utica General Truck Co. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica and a member of the American Legion Fort Schuyler Post. Philip is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Margaret and Bradley Britt and their children, Jason and Jessica of Carmel, IN, and Angelia and Andrew Brennan and their children; Andrea and Angeline, Deerfield, two sons and daughters-in-law; Philip and Stephanie Sacco and their son; Philip, Deerfield, and Gregory and Gretchen Sacco and their children; Melissa, Gregory Angelina and Christina, Deerfield, a sister-In-law; Dorothy Sacco Bogan, Clinton, a nephew; Martin Sacco, Sauquoit, a niece; Elizabeth Spaziani and her husband Paris, New Hartford and a special life long friend; Kay Conley, Utica. Philip was predeceased by a brother; Anthony Sacco and two sisters; Palma Falvo and Margaret Sacco. Mr. Sacco's funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 9:30 from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Utica. A private burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica are Monday from 4-8. Those so wishing may make donations to the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department in Philip's memory.
