Marjorie Edith Thomas Yorkville Marjorie Edith Joseph Jackson Thomas, 74, a resident of the St. Luke's Home, formerly of Yorkville, passed away August 29, 2007 at the home, with her family by her side. Marjorie was born in Clinton, NY on January 1, 1933, the daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth (Westerman) Haines. She was raised and educated in Clinton. Marjorie married Moses Joseph and shared a union of fourteen years before he passed away in 1966. She later married James Jackson, with whom she shared fourteen years before he passed away in 1982. Marjorie later married John Thomas, with whom she also shared fourteen years before he passed away in 1998. For many years, Marjorie worked for the Marcy Psychiatric Center until her retirement. She loved crafts, and even owned her own craft store. Marjorie had many interests, including animals, bingo, music, crochet. She loved to watch and was affectionately known as Miss CNN. Above all, her greatest interest was her grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by six daughters, Bonita and Michael Dallos, Rome, Wanita Cappelli and her companion, Tom, Camden, Cynthia Massena and her companion, Mike, Whitesboro, Tina and Richard Tice, Sauquoit, Donna and John O'Neil, Clinton, Heidi Jackson, Buffalo; a son, Daniel Joseph and his companion, Susie; fourteen grandchildren, Timmy, Michelle, Jason, Luciano, Stephen, Desiree, Jennifer, Lenny, Shauna, Richard, Melissa, Danny, Amanda, and Jeffrey; nine great grandchildren, Shawn, Haley, Jonathan, Jayden, Ryan, Taloa, Tatum, Aiden, and Kellen; as well as a dear friend of forty years, Wendell Whitaker, and dear friend, Charlie Greene. She was predeceased by a sister, Winefred. Mrs. Thomas' funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica with Fr. James Jensen presiding. Interment will take place in Kirkland Cemetery, Kirkland. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9 ? 11 am prior to the service. Those wishing may donate to The Jonathan Fund in Marjorie's memory. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the St. Luke's Home ? Clark East for the care and compassion given to Marjorie and her family during her stay.
