Myrtle D. Blenis New Hartford Myrtle D. Blenis, 81, a resident of the Meadows Apartment, New Hartford, passed away January 24, 2007 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford. Myrtle was born in Margaretsville, New York on May 24, 1925, the daughter of Eber and Clara Todd Delameter. She was raised and educated in the Oneonta area. On June 26, 1949 in Oneonta, Myrtle was married to Ralph W. Blenis. For a number of years until her retirement due to illness, she was employed by the Victory Markets. She was a former member of Central United Methodist Church, Utica; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1969; a volunteer of the Presbyterian Home for CNY; and a Meadows Assoc. member, where she enjoyed setting up the bus excursions for shopping residents. She was also a member and officer of the Family Camper and RV'ers of NCHA since 1967. Myrtle is survived by her husband, Ralph; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Joseph Sansone of Vernon, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Donna Blenis of Clinton, NY; five grandchildren, Keith Blenis of Utica, Craig and his wife, Yvonne Blenis of San Diego, CA, Sean Blenis of Clinton, NY, Jennifer Sansone of Vernon, NY, and Peter Servello of Clinton, NY. She also leaves one great-grandson, Craig Blenis Jr. of San Diego, CA; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Florence Delameter of Oneonta, NY; and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Myrtle also leaves very close friends who were always there to drive them to the doctors, shopping and wherever else needed, Lucy and Howard Jones. Mrs. Blenis's funeral service will be held Friday evening, January 26, 2007, at 7 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, with the Pastor Brian McCaffrey officiating. Her burial will be at the convenience of her family at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 4-7 prior to her service. Donations in Myrtle's memory would be appreciated to the Eastern Star Home, Oriskany. The Order of the Eastern Star, Valley Stars Chapter #217 will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 for services.
