Marjorie E. White, 80, of North Utica passed away Saturday evening September 29, 2007 at the Sunset Nursing Home, Boonville. Marjorie was born in Dalton City, IL a daughter of William A. and Nina E. (Reese) Orr. On February 18, 1953 in Illinois Marjorie married Byron D. White. Mr. White passed away on January 2, 1982. Until her retirement in 2002 Marjorie was employed at Faxton Hospital, prior to this she was employed with the Utica School System, Visiting Nurses and General Electric. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Utica and the First Baptist Church, North Utica. Marjorie was as avid walker and worked on the American Heart Run & Walk and the Rescue Mission Walk, she also did volunteered work at the Humane Society and was a helper for the Riverside Material Cinderella Softball Team. In their early years Marjorie and her husband Byron enjoyed boating with their boat the "Margie B". She also enjoyed bowling, traveling, camping and doing carpentry. Marjorie was a beloved mother and grandmother who by example instilled the qualities of honesty, kindness, responsibility and citizenship in her family. Marjorie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Linda and William Ellis, North Utica and Sue and Dave Dailey, Schuyler, Grandchildren; Gregory J. Paino, CA, Jennifer L. Paino, Utica and Kaleigh E. Ellis, Utica, step grandchildren; Melanie and Joe Hastwell, Boonville, Scott Dailey, Boonville, great grandchildren; Joe, Travis, Dustin and Uerick, a sister; Winona Creek, IL a brother; James Orr, IL and special friends; Fran, Anna Marie, Virginia, Betty, Agnes and Jean and her canine companion; Valentino. Besides her parents and husband Marjorie was predeceased by four sisters; Bonnie, Leona, Frances and Betty and three brothers; Donald, Charles and Billy. Mrs. White's funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica with the Rev. Robert Umidi officiating. Burial will be Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 5-8. Those so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Humane Society or your favorite charity. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Loretto Day Care Center, Presbyterian Home, Sunset Nursing Home and Dr. Kodsy for all the loving care given to Marjorie.
