Louis T. Nougeim Utica Louis T. Nougeim, 83, a resident of the St. Luke's Home, formerly of Ash Street, Utica, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2007 after a long illness. Louis was born in Utica on July 18, 1923, the son of Shakeeb and Ann (Loftus) Nougeim. He was raised and educated locally and went on to attend Oklahoma State University. In 1943, Louis joined the Army Air Corps, serving his country during World War II. On July 14, 1950, Louis married Helen Cieslak in St. Louis Gonzaga Church, Utica. He worked for Utica Drop Forge & Tool Corporation in Utica before becoming the owner and operator of Empire Paving Co. in Utica. Louis was of the Catholic faith. Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Helen, Utica; by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Thomas Pflanz, Marcy, Christine Nougeim and her companion, Hawley Zwahlen, Lathem; a granddaughter and her husband, Sarah and Brett Smith, Vernon; three cherished great grandchildren, Tyler, Riley, and Aiden Smith, Vernon. He is predeceased by a brother, Donald Nougeim. Louis' funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica at 11:00 am. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9:00 ? 11:00 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, or the Resident Memorial Walkway at the St. Luke's Home to benefit the residents of the home, or a charity of your choice. Louis family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of the St. Luke's Home, especially to Clark West, for the care and compassion shown to Louis and his family during his stay.
