Mrs. Laverne Reinhardt of Schuyler passed away on Saturday February 16, 2008 at her home after a long illness. She was born Laverne Kahae Kauahi on July 25, 1940 in Hoea Kohala, Hawaii the daughter of Louis and Mary (Raymond) Kauahi. She was raised in Hawaii and attended schools in Kohala and Honokaa. She served in The US Army where she completed courses in dental technician. On September 1, 1961, Laverne married Paul Reinhardt and the couple settled in the Utica area in 1962. She was employed with Cogar manufacturing, ICL manufacturing and for many years with General Electric Company in Utica. Mrs. Reinhardt is survived by her husband Paul; two sons, Mike Reinhardt and Aaron Reinhardt; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lani Casey and Jeneen and William Todd; one sister, Gyneve U. Kauahi of Hawaii and one brother and two sisters-in-law, Clarence k. and Dorothy Kauahi of Hawaii and Nani Kauahi of Alaska; Laverne left a legacy of 10 grandchildren and a special mention to the girls in the Friday night card club whom Laverne loved very much. She was predeceased by a brother, Al Kauahi. Relatives and friends may are invited to attend memorial visitation on Tuesday February 19, 2008 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd. N. Utica. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Schuyler Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Company in Laverne's memory.
