William B. Lantry N. Utica Mr. William B. Lantry, 74 of N. Utica passed away on Sunday December 31, 2006 at his home. William was born on June 14, 1932 in Syracuse the son of John and Helen (Jacquin) Lantry. He was raised in Syracuse and was a graduate of Cathedral High School and later attended radio school. William honorably served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. On August 22, 1957 William married Anita A. Buehler in St. Lucy's Church, Syracuse. For many years he was employed as an electronic technician with General Electric Company at both the French Rd. and Broad St. Plants, retiring in 1989. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church N. Utica and a former member of the Moose Lodge, Marcy. William was an avid gardener and a "Mr. Fix It" who was always there to assist and lend a helping hand to his neighbors or any one in need. Mr. Lantry is survived by his beloved wife Anita; two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Bradley Elow, San Diego, CA and Katherine and David Gray, Marcy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Peggy Lantry, Floyd, NY and Brian and Jana Lantry, Boylston, NY; nine grandchildren, Brandy Cacciatore and her husband, Jason, Ilion, Krista Lantry, San Antonio, TX, Shane Lantry, US Marines Corps, Stationed in Paris Island, Diana Elow, San Diego, CA, Brent Elow, San Diego, CA, Kristina Gray, Marcy, Andrew Gray, Marcy, Alison Lantry Boylston, NY and Abigail Lantry, Boylston, NY; one great grandson, Hunter Catchiore, Ilion; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Patricia Lantry, Bridgeport, NY; two sisters-in-law, Laurine Ballard and her husband Donald, Bridgeport, NY and Suzanne Meleski and her husband Bernard, Minoa, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marian Horn. Mr. Lantry's funeral will be held on Friday January 5, 2007 at 10:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 11:00 at St. Peter's Church where his mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the American Cancer Society in William's memory. Mr. Lantry's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Atul Butala and the girls in his office, Dr. Mario Carillo and Dr. Venkata Mannava for the excellent care and compassion given to William.
