Mrs. Kathryn T. (Colwell) Mahoney, 76, of Utica passed away Friday May 25, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital. Kay was born in Utica on November 3, 1930, a daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Milgate) Colwell. On October 20, 1962, Kay was married to Jeremiah E. Mahoney by the Rev. John Farrell at Blessed Sacrament Church, Utica, where she was also a member of the Legion of Mary. At one time, Kay was employed at F. W. Woolworth's, Utica, The Fort Schuyler Knitting Mill, and later retired from the City of Utica School Bus System. In her retirement years, Kay worked for Elder Life. She was of the Catholic Faith. Kay was a special, unique individual, who loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews and had a special fondness for the Adirondacks. Kay is survived by her husband Jerry, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Walter J. Graham, North Utica, local nieces and nephews, Marilyn Graham, Utica, Sheila and Jack Mineo, Whitesboro, Stephen Graham and fiancée, Patricia Mallozzi, North Utica, Michael and Maryann Graham, Utica and their families, and also the Price and Roth families of NJ and FL. Kay was predeceased by her mother and father, a brother and three sisters, Donald (Bud) Colwell, Shirley Roth, Elizabeth Price, Phyllis Colwell and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jeremiah and Catherine Mahoney. Mrs. Mahoney's funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 10:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, North Utica and at 11:00 from St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 5-7.
