Joan M. Burns Utica ? Clinton Joan M. Burns, 72, of Utica, formerly of Clinton, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Loretto Home of Utica. Joan was born in Clinton on July 3, 1934, the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Ellis) Burns. She was raised and educated locally graduating from Clinton Central High School in 1954. She went on to work for Mele Manufacturing in Utica. Joan was an avid Mets fan. She was of the catholic faith. Joan is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Rocco Zasa, Utica; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Leta Burns, New Hartford, Robert and Betty Burns, New Hartford, Larry and Emiko Burns, New Hartford; a special friend, Timmy Myles, Utica; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by four brothers, Vincent, Patrick, Thomas, and Michael Burns. Joan's funeral service will be held Tuesday, (TODAY) June 12, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton with Rev. John Flanagan presiding. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 ? 7 pm prior to the service. Joan's family would like to thank Dr. Krause and his staff for the excellent care and kindness given to Joan during her illness.
