John Henry Buck, 57, of North Utica, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008 at his home. JB was born in Utica on June 9, 1951, the son of Henry and Elaine (Gilbert) Buck. He was raised and educated locally. In 1969, JB joined the US Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He went on to work for Utica Corp. On May 2, 1986, JB married Barbara Lawton. He was of the protestant faith. JB was a member of the Eagles Club ? FOE 97, of American Legion Post 229, Utica, and of VFW Post 8728, Schuyler. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and most of all loved spending time with his family and friends. JB is survived by his beloved wife Barbara, North Utica; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael Petronio, Utica; a granddaughter, Teylor Rose Petronio; four step-children, Barbara Aceto and her fiancé, Bob Faniglula, Frankfort, Chip Kehrli, Utica, Terry and Tammy Kehrli, Utica, Bob and Pattie Kehrli; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jackie Doolan, Remsen, Judy and John Southard, Kirkland, Patty and Bill Klenotiz, Sauquoit; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Johann Buck, Remsen. Also surviving are many step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. Mr. Buck's funeral services and interment in West Schuyler Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may donate to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. in JB's memory. JB's family extends their thanks and appreciation to JB's friends who supported him. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica.
