Eugene Kresa, 59, of Whitesboro passed away peacefully at home on Monday February 18, 2008 with his loving family by his side. Eugene was born in Utica on November 10, 1948 the son of Cecelia Blaszczyk and the late Walter Kresa. He was raised and educated locally and graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College. Eugene served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. In Utica on April 20, 1979 Eugene married Jane Pfisterer. For many years he was employed with Alfred Publishing Co. in Oriskany, NY. Eugene was a parishioner of Our Lady of The Rosary Church. Throughout his life Eugene was always very active in sports and enjoyed running, cross country skiing, racquet ball and dancing. Eugene is survived by his wife, Jane, his mother; Cecelia Sutkowski, Clark Mills, four sisters and three brothers-in-law; Dianne and Bruce VanDeusen, Clinton, Janet and Jim Northrup, Madison, NY, Laurie Johnson, Syracuse, and Mary Beth and Stephen Nobles, Fulton, NY, two brothers and a sister-in-law; David Sutkowski, Clark Mills and Larry and Terri Sutkowski, Delmar, NY, two brothers-in-law; James Pfisterer, Utica and Richard Mitrzyk, New Hartford, a special aunt; Sister Jane Frances, OFM, Conv. Utica, an uncle; Edward Kresa, Utica, nieces and nephews; Ashley VanDeusen, Lisa Zwald, Amey Sutkowski, Lauren Sutkowski, Zachery Johnson, Evan Johnson, Michael Nobles, Matthew Nobles, Michelle Jones, Scott Mitrzyk and Steven Mitrzyk and his feline and canine companions; Wilbur and Wyatt. Eugene was predeceased by his twin brother Stephen Kresa his father, Walter Kresa and his dad, Edward Sutkowski. Mr. Kresa's funeral will be held on Friday February 22, 2008 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 from Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice and Palliative Care or the RCIL in Eugene's memory. Mrs. Kresa would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to Dianne and Bruce VanDeusen, Michelle Jones, James Pfisterer and Bernadine Kopek who were there everyday for Eugene during his illness.
