Esther M. Domser N. Utica Mrs. Esther M. Domser, 84 of North Utica died August 15, 2007 after a fourteen year battle with cancer. Esther was born in Utica on October 18, 1922 the daughter of Theodore and Rose (Carey) Wurz. She was married for 62 years to Dr. Ira Domser. Her utmost joy was caring for her family to whom she was lovingly devoted. She cared for both her mother Rose and mother-in-law, Louise Domser in their final years. Esther was a member of St. Peter's Parish in N. Utica and was extremely active in church activities including the Alter Rosary Society and Mother's Guild. She taught CCD at St. Peter's School for twenty years preparing students for first communion. In March of 2005, she was recognized by the parish with their first "Friends of St. Peter's Award." Esther spent her summers at Kayuta Lake where she cherished time spent with her family and close friends. She also enjoyed German folk dancing with Ira for twenty years as members of the Edelweiss Schuhplattlers of the Utica Mannerchor. Esther was a remarkable and loving woman, beloved by her large family and many friends. She is survived by her husband Ira and their Children; Ira and Pat Domser of Westminster, MD and their children, Cassandra and Hendrik Lammers and Emma; Dr. Mark and Celia Domser of Trenton Falls, NY and their children, Matthew and Christina; Michele and Brian Smith of Remsen, NY and their children, Jason and Shavon Smith, Matthew and Kim Smith, Ira and Katie Smith and Corey; Mary Beth and Tom King of Clinton, NY and their children, Graham, Ahnna and Grant. Also surviving are her sisters, Alice Stafford and Bette Bartlett and her brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Sandy Wurz. She was predeceased by her infant children, Deborah and Matthew, sisters, Dorothy Cunningham, Joan Williams, and Katie Board, her brother Robert Wurz. The family wishes to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who helped us care for our beloved wife and mother in her final days, especially for the compassionate treatment offered through Hospice. Mrs. Domser's funeral will be held on Saturday August 18, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd. N. Utica.
