Edward H. Sergott, 77, of Deerfield, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford, with his loving family at his side. Edward was born August 30, 1930 on Manor View Farm in Schuyler, NY, the son of Frank and Stella (Kochan) Sergott. Edward was very proud of his one room schoolhouse education on Cosby Manor Road. He ultimately achieved a B.S. in Accounting from Syracuse University in 1951. On August 24, 1957, Ed married Barbara Sychtysz , a union they shared for over 50 loving years. He was a Senior Accountant for Bendix Corp., retiring after 35 years of service. His retirement was enjoyed by time spent in West Palm Beach, Fl. Ed was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church, N. Utica and enjoyed traveling, Polish music and spending time with his family. Edward inspired everyone to do their very best. Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara of Deerfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Stan Ryczek, of Schuyler; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward F. and Lynn Sergott of Schuyler; five cherished grandchildren, Edward R., Philip, and Marilynn Sergott and Jeffrey and Alissa Ryczek, all of Schuyler and a sister-in-law, Arlene Sergott of Deerfield. Besides by his parents, Ed is predeceased by his brother, Charles. Mr. Sergott's funeral will be held Monday, July 7, 2008, at 8:45 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, N. Utica and at 9:30 at St. Peter's Church, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus and Casimer Cemetery, Whitesboro.
