Obituary of Edward F. Bergin

Edward F. Bergin, 81, of Utica, passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford. Edward was born March 19, 1926 in Arlington, MA, the son of William J. and Barbara L. (Brackett) Bergin. He was raised and educated in Rome, NY. In 1981, Mr. Bergin married Rose Jadus. Edward served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was employed as a draftsman at Griffiss Air Force Base. Edward is survived by his wife, Rose Bergin, Utica; one daughter, Ann Marie Cravis, NC; two sons, Michael and Melissa Lazarek, Utica, Larry Lazarek, Holland Patent; two brothers, Ernest and Sheila Bonvincino, Holland Patent, John and Joann Bonvincino, Utica. Also surviving are numerous grand & great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister, Florence Fairhurst. Mr. Bergin's funeral will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keyes Rd., Utica where his Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Edward's memory.
