Carolyn M. Schiesser Reinhardt, 73, of North Utica, formerly of Newport and Barneveld, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at her home with her loving family by her side. Carolyn was born in Utica on April 28, 1934, the daughter of Frank and Iva (Griswold) Schiesser. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Holland Patent High School in 1953. Throughout her life, Carolyn worked several places, including Andrews Bake Shop in Barneveld, Perfects in Poland, and finally, until she retired due to her illness, at The Masonic Home in Utica. Carolyn was of the Methodist faith. Carolyn is survived by three daughters, Susan Reinhardt and her companion, John Gawlik, Jr., Clark Mills, Patricia Reinhardt and her companion, Steve Johnson, Dolgeville, Dianne Reinhardt, Utica; one son and daughter-in-law, William and Celeste Reinhardt, Ewa Beach, Hawaii; twelve beloved grandchildren, Daniel (Mr. B.), Amanda (Punky), Kristen, Michael, Jonathan, Benjamin, Zachary, Thomas, Anna, Richard, Carlo, and Michio; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Jackie Schiesser, Granite Bay, California. Also surviving are two nieces, Cathy and Donna and their families and cousins in Oswego; her best friend, Genevieve Fenton, Poland, NY; as well as her canine companions, Max, Molly, Bandit, and Buster. Carolyn's funeral service will be held Monday, October 29, 2007 at 10:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica. Interment will take place in Olden Barneveld Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 4 -7 pm. Those wishing may donate to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. in Carolyn's memory. The family would like to extend their thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Dwyer and the nurses and staff of the Bassett Hospital Cancer Center and to the nurses and staff of Hospice & Palliative Care for the care and kindness shown to Carolyn and her family.
