Carla Marie Nelson Clark Mills Carla Marie Nelson, 50, of Clark Mills, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Carla was born June 19, 1957 in New Hartford, the daughter of D. Robert and Shirley (Ellis) Swing. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Clinton High School and later receiving her Masters Degree from Syracuse University. Carla was employed with Millgate Homes, working with her mother. After she received her Masters, she went to work with the Utica School System as a Case Worker for troubled children. In 1989, Carla married Greg D. Nelson, in Cooperstown, NY. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family becoming involved with Motocross and BMX Racing. Carla was also an avid supporter of the Native American culture and beliefs. Carla is survived by her husband, Greg Nelson, Clark Mills; her son, Keagan Nelson, Clark Mills; her daughter, Currey Nelson, Clark Mills; her parents, D. Robert and Shirley Swing, Clark Mills; and her parents-in-law, Robert and Darlene Nelson, Minneapolis, MN. Relatives and friends may call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton Thursday evening from 4 ? 7 pm. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may donate to the Neighborhood Center in Carla's memory.
