Albert J. Ayers, 50, of North Utica passed away Saturday March 24, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital. Albert was born in Cortland, NY on December 18, 1956 the son of Frances H. (Hendriks) Ayers and the late Russell C. Ayers. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp. for five years. After his honorable discharge he was employed with the U. S. Postal Service retiring in 2004 after 20 years of dedicated service. He was a member of American Legion Post # 229, the Eagles Club and the DAV. Albert is survived by his mother, Frances Ayers, North Utica, his maternal grandmother, Frances Hendriks, FL, a daughter, Sara Lints, Ilion, a son, Jesse Lints, Ilion, two grandchildren, Alex and Isabella, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Gary Bielicki, Schuyler and Cindy and Fred Conkling, Utica a brother and sister-in-law, William and Melody Ayers, TX, and his good friend B.J., North Utica that has helped him for the last several years and several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his father Russell in 1996 who was his best friend, his grandparents, Albert Hendriks and Leona and Clark Ayers, and three infant sisters. A funeral service for Mr. Ayers will be held Wednesday evening March 28, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. A burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland, NY. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4-8. Those so wishing may make donations to the Insight House in Albert's memory. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Dilip Kachare and the nurses of the 6th floor of St. Luke's for all the loving care they gave to Albert.
