John K. Wickman, 93, of Utica passed away Sunday October 15, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital. John was born in Utica on February 28, 1913 a son of John and Mabel (Smith) Wickman. In Utica in 1937 John married Jean Ware. She passed away on April 16, 1980. For many years until his retirement in 1973 John was employed with Kelsey ? Hayes. He was of the Episcopal faith. John was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and the Wyndott Fish and Game Club. John is survived by a daughter, Susan E. Wickman, Floyd, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Wickman, Whitesboro, a sister-in-law, Mary Wickman, Yorkville, four grandsons and spouses, John and Nancy Wickman, Steve and Valerie Wickman, Tim and Laura Wickman and Michael Wickman, a niece and her husband, Joyce and James Clark, 6 great grandchildren, a great niece and three great nephews. John was predeceased by two sons Edwin Donald Wickman and Frederick Wickman and two brothers, Frank Wickman and Walter Wickman. Mr. Wickman's funeral will be held Thursday October 19, 2006 at a time to be announced from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Burial will be in Carr Cemetery, Marcy. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society in John's memory.
