Mr. Martin P. Krukonis, 92, a resident of the Presbyterian Home for CNY, in New Hartford, formerly of Utica, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the nursing home. Martin was born in Utica on August 20, 1924 the son of Louis and Helen (Unzer) Krukonis and was educated in local schools. Martin proudly served in the US Army during WW II. On June 17, 1967, Martin married Margret Premo at St. Peter's Church in Rome, a loving and devoted union of 24 years until Margaret's death in 1991. For over 30 years until his retirement, Martin was employed with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. He was a member of the golf and bowling leagues of Chicago Pneumatic and loved music. Martin was a parishioner of Our Lady Of Lourdes Church in Utica and a former parishioner of St. Peter's Church in N. Utica. Mr. Krukonis is survived by his devoted daughter, Mary-Margaret Krukonis of Utica as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann Mustee and two brothers, Richard Krukonis and Joseph Krukonis. Mr. Krukonis' funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and 10:00 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Committal and burial, with military honors will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Rome, NY.
