Joan T. Jones, 74, a resident of the St. Luke's Home passed away Friday October 13, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. Joan was born in Utica on July 11, 1932 a daughter of Arthur and Marie (Bannigan) Wiseham. At St. Joseph's Church, Utica, on April 14, 1956 Joan married John C. Jones a blessed union of 50 years. For many years until her retirement Joan was employed at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. She was of the catholic faith. Throughout her life Joan was an avid reader, enjoyed walking and going to the theatre. Joan is survived by her husband, John, a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Paul Osterman, New Hartford, a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Jennifer Jones, Port Charlotte, FL, four grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Brittney and Jonathan two step grandchildren, Mark and Matthew and many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ireland and Kathryn Cain and a brother, Arthur Wiseham. A memorial service for Mrs. Jones will be announced later in the week. There are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to Hartford Players Youth Theatre Scholarship Fund or the Children's Miracle Network or the United Way in Joan's memory.
