Mrs. Sharon Ann Keiser, 73, of Whitesboro, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. Sharon was born in Utica on March 22, 1943 the daughter of Herbert and Florence (Hartlieb) Varnum. She was raised and educated in Utica, was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and Utica School of Commerce. On February 4, 1967, Sharon married Andrew W. Keiser at Sacred Heart Church in Utica, a devoted union of almost 50 years. For 34 years, Sharon was employed with the Utica City School District retiring in 2011. She was an active member and past Vice President of American Legion Whitestown post 1113, Ladies Auxiliary and its color guard. Sharon was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crafts, bowling, games of all variety and was a huge NY Yankees and NY Giants Fan. She was of the Episcopal faith. Mrs. Keiser is survived by her loving husband, Andy; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Amy Keiser of Utica; beloved grandson, David Lee Keiser; sister, Sharman Tullar of Utica; brother-in-law, Rocco Palmer, formerly of Utica as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Herbert, who was killed serving his country during World War II, her mother, Florence, and sister, Sheila Palmer. Memorial Visitation for family and friends are Friday, October 21, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. A Prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation. Those wishing to make a donation in Sharon's memory, please consider a veterans organization of your choice.
