Utica John J. Gouse, 86, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 23, 2006 in Faxton ? St. Luke's Healthcare Center. John was born in Ashley, PA on September 23, 1920, the son of John P. and Anna (Nargoski) Gouse. He was raised and educated in Ashley, graduating from Ashley High School. In 1942, John joined the US Air Force, serving his country during World War II. On September 3, 1947, John married Leona B. Drazba. He was employed by the US Postal Service in Utica. John was a member of the American Legion Post # 1113, Whitestown. He belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. John is survived by his wife, Leona, Utica; and by a brother in Pennsylvania. John's funeral will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 9:00 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica, and at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Utica. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 ? 9 pm. Those wishing may donate to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in John's memory. John's wife, Leona, offers a special thanks to the ICU unit of Faxton ? St. Luke's Healthcare Center for the care and kindness shown to both John and herself during his time there.
