Marmish George Obituary

Mrs. Marmish Ann George, 82 of Whitesboro passed away on Monday May 8, 2006 at the Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford. Marmish was born in Utica on May 28, 1923 the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Saki) Saber. She was raised and educated in Sherburne and was a graduate of Sherburne high school. On August 17, 1946 Marmish married Frederick George a loving union of 32 years until Frederick's death in 1978. She was a parishioner of Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills and a member of Clark Mills American Legion Post 26 Ladies Auxiliary. Marmish was a devoted volunteer at Faxton Hospital, was an avid Golfer and enjoyed bowling and spending time at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort. Mrs. George is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Darwin Kotary, Lee Center, NY and Mary and William Opperman, Ithaca, NY; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Kathryn George, Maine; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Dorothy and Mario Lepori, MA, Kara and Kurt Lakatos, WI, Amy Kotary, MA, Emily Opperman, Ithaca, William Opperman, Ithaca, Megan and Michael Lepore, MA, Kathleen George, MA and Daniel George, MA; one great grandson, Connor Lepore; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Fay Saber, Sherburne, NY; one brother-in-law, John Morton, MA; dear friends, Betty and Moses Asker, Clark Mills and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves a large circle of friends who she enjoyed throughout her life. She was pre deceased by one sister, Gloria Morton. Mrs. George's funeral will be held on Thursday May 11, 2006 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home 10 E. Park Row Clinton and 10:00 at Church of the Annunciation where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours for family and friends and Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Those so wishing may consider a donation to the Siegenthaler Center, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd. New Hartford, NY 13413 in Marmish's memory. A heartfelt thank you to the many friends who lovingly helped care for Marmish especially Roberta Stoffle. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
