Rita Dousharm Frank-Jackson New Hartford-Clinton Mrs. Rita Nora Dousharm Frank-Jackson went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2006 at the Presbyterian Home. Her granddaughter Tina Zysk was by her side at the time of her passing. Rita was born in Utica, NY on March 4,1924 the daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche Dousharm. She was locally raised and educated and was a member of St. Joseph's and St. Patrick's Church. On November 20, 1943 Rita married Norbert P. Frank, a blessed union of marriage for 50 years until his passing on Dec. 6, 1993. Rita and her "Norbie" were not able to have biological children of their own, but that did not stop her from becoming a mother. She started taking care of her nieces and nephews then she began to take in foster children to whom she gave more than the required care. She gave love and included them as her family. She became mother to these children. She is survived by her children: Robert Lamanque and his wife Rory of Virginia, Sue Zysk and her husband Tony of Utica, Donna Maunz of Utica, Joyce Jennings and her husband Robert of Sangerfield, Sally Raab and her husband John of Utica, Mary Everson of Maryland, Michael Campany and his wife Susan of Marcy and Alan Campany of Texas. Also surviving are many grandchildren especially Trista Brown and her husband Jason of Utica, Tony Zysk and his wife Marisa of Yorkville, Tina Zysk of Utica, Karen and Doug Lust of Florida and Trista and Dennis Patten of Florida. Also 5 great-grandchildren DJ and Vincent Lust of Florida, Anthony Zysk IV of Yorkville, Dennis Patten III of Florida, and Isabella Brown of Utica. She is also survived by her brother-in-law James Morrock and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially Maureen Spataro of Wilimington, NC and Rose McCurry of Whitesboro. Rita was a drill team member of the ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John's since 1947. She enjoyed bingo, dancing, and bowling. She was also an avid fan of ceramics. She was active in parish life at St. Patrick's Church and then at St. Joseph's and St. Patrick's Church as a choir member and soloist. She also was a CCD teacher. She hand made rosaries and was famous for sewing beautiful Infant of Prague garments. She was a member of the Blue Army of Mary and Altar Rosary Society. She participated in many novenas and had a daily ministry of prayer for many people and causes. She married William C. Jackson on May 6, 2000. William passed away on March 8, 2000. She is survived by four special step-children, Sherry Ford and her husband Donald of Clinton, Stephen and Rosemary Jackson of Syracuse and Richard Jackson and Kenneth Jackson both of Vernon. Also surviving a very special girl she use to baby-sit for Marisa Hernandez of Utica. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Joseph, Ernest, and Raymond Dousharm and one sister Blanche Morrock and a very dear friend who was like a daughter to her Phyllis Lamanque Bick. Rita's funeral will be held Tuesday September 26,2006 at 10:15 am at the Heintz Funeral Home 408 Herkimer Rd. N.Utica and 11:00 at St. Joseph's and St. Patrick's Church Utica, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday 4-8 pm. Please omit flowers and consider a Mass offering or a donation to a charity of your choice in Rita's memory. Rita's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of the Presbyterian Home especially the staff of the Aspen and Birch wings. Some of her favorites on the staff included her granddaughter Trista, Leslie, Donna, Nancy, Gail, Christine, Jennifer and Linda Thieme and a very special thank you to the Chaplin Tom Lorenz.
