Daryle F. Bitely Hinckley- Fulton Daryle F. Bitely, 57, of Hinckley Road, Hinckley, NY, formerly of Fulton, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home June 8, 2006. Daryle was born in Utica, NY, July 20, 1948, the son of Charles and Mildred Geary Bitely. He was raised in Clinton, NY, and was educated in the New Hartford School System. In 1968, after graduation, Daryle joined the United States Marines, and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. In 1981, Daryle joined the United States Air National Guard, where he served in the 174th Fighter Wing Company, retiring after 22 years of service as an armament technician. During that time, he served under Desert Shield in 1990 and then continued his service into Desert Storm. On May 31st, 1986, in N. Syracuse, Daryle was married to Deborah Harter. He was of the Catholic faith, a member of the American Legion Post #1425 of Greenwood, NY, and the VFW Post #981 of Remsen, NY. He was an affiliate of the Marine Corps League. Daryle is survived by his wife, Deborah of Hinckley; his mother-in-law, Jean Harter of E. Syracuse; two aunts, Madeline Fox of Utica, and Midge Geary of NC. He also leaves several cousins and his canine "best friend," Willie. Daryle will also be remembered by his many good friends at the Remsen VFW. He was predeceased by his father, Charles, in 1968; his mother, Mildred, in 1986; and by his younger brother, Gary. Mr. Bitely's funeral will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hientz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. His burial with full Military Honors will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Monday evening from 5 to 8. The Remsen VFW will meet at the funeral home at 7 p.m. for services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Daryle's memory would be appreciated to Hospice and Palliative Care or to the charity of your choice.
