Yorkville Clyde L. Ashliman, 70, of Yorkville, husband of Ruth Mae Ashliman, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006 at the Masonic Care Community. Clyde was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on December 20, 1935, the son of Clarence L. and Deloris (Twitchell) Ashliman. He was raised and educated in Idaho and on July 18, 1953, married Ruth Mae Jones. Clyde went on to serve in the US Air Force, 27th Fighting Interceptor Squadron, seeing action in both the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. For many years, Clyde worked for the Masonic Care Community, retiring as the Maintenance Crew Chief. He then opened the "Old Time Trading Post" in Forestport which he operated until his health began to fail. Clyde was a member of the Mason Lodge F & AM, and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. Clyde is survived by his wife Ruth, Utica; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Ralph Richar, North Carolina, Mary Jane and John Keller, Utica; a son, Christopher Ashliman, Rochester; three grandchildren, Rocky, Randy and Rose Richar, North Carolina; a sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Bernerd Henscheid, Idaho; and a dear friend, Ed Gray, Whitesboro. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday (TODAY), November 7, 2006 at 2:00 pm in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland, with Rev. John Flanagan presiding. Those wishing may donate to the American Cancer Society in Clyde's memory. Clyde's family would like to thank the staffs of the Visiting Nurses, of Caregivers, of Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, and of the Masonic Care Community, especially to Randy Maggiolino for the care and compassion given to Clyde and his family during this time.
