Mrs. Carmella (Millie) Benedetto, 94 a resident of the Rome Nursing Home, formerly of Linda View Lane, N. Utica passed away on Sunday September 17, 2006 at the nursing home. Carmella was born in Utica on February 23, 1912 the daughter of Ralph and Julie (Zito) Angiulli and received her education in local schools. In November 1960 Millie married Angelo Benedetto in NY City. Mr. Benedetto died in 1972. For many years until her retirement, Millie was employed with General Electric Company. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, N. Utica, the Daughters of Columbus, N. Utica Seniors and AARP. She enjoyed spending her free time sewing. Mrs. Benedetto is survived by two step-daughters and their spouses, Theresa and Joseph Carrone, MA and Dorothy and Mario Fragola, Rome; one step-son and his wife, Francis and Dolores Benedetto, Liverpool; one sister, Angelia Rizzo, MA; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Diane and Edward Fagan, Daniel and Ronnie Carrone, Joseph Carrone, Mark and Diane Benedetto, Paul and Judy Benedetto, David Fragola, Doreen and Gregory Tyler and Brian Fragola; two nephews and their spouses, Lawrence and Carol Rizzo and Frank and Linda Rizzo. Also surviving are many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Carrone, sister, Lucy Talerico and brother, John Angiulli. Mrs. Benedetto's funeral will be held on Thursday September 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church where her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday morning 10-11 at St. Peter's Church 422 Coventry Ave Utica prior to the Funeral Mass. Those so wishing may consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Carmella's memory. Mrs. Benedetto's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff of Rome Nursing Home for the loving care and compassion given to Carmella. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., N. Utica.
