Sean Patrick Jewett, 16, of Marcy, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 3, 2016 as a result of an automobile Accident. On January 11, 2000, Sean Patrick Jewett entered this world, and along with Sean came much love, happiness, and pure joy. Those who were lucky enough to know Sean, knew he was one of a kind. He was an old soul and a true gentleman. He was brilliant, compassionate, creative, adventurous and brave. Sean believed in living life to the fullest and cherished every memory he made with his family and friends. He was eager to learn everything life had to offer. Sean was always studying new cultures, languages and had a special interest in science. He was especially proud of the chess club he started, along with the librarian from the three years he was at Frankfort school, the late Mr. G. Sean recently started in the automotive technology program at Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES and loved working on cars with his best friends. Sean was always very adventurous, spending his free time outdoors exploring nature. He loved to go hiking, kayaking, and bike riding. He also loved a wide variety of music, especially classical. His favorite country artist was Johnny Cash. Sean was a true family man and always put his family and friends first. He loved life and more importantly loved his family and friends. Sean is survived by his loving parents, James and Kim (Bentley) Jewett of Marcy; his brother, James Jewett, Jr. and his sister, Shannon Jewett, both of Marcy; his grandmother, Jennifer Jewett of Marcy; his aunt Dee (Diane Szablak); close friends, Kameron Evans, Jason Provost, Alix Brucker, Tyler Van Etten, Kyle Smith, DJ Desmarais, Julius Santana, Dante Grimes, Max Ruski, Takiem Johnson, Lisa Berhan, Andi Brefka and Emilee Conway as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to numerous to mention and his canine pug, Coosie. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Carol (Heintz) Bentley and grandfather, Francis G. Jewett, Sr. Sean's funeral will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St., Utica where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Committal and burial will be held at the convenience of his family. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Those wishing to make a donation in Sean's memory, please consider the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES Automotive Technology program or Whitesboro High School for a science scholarship that will be established in Sean's name. Sean's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders, especially the first two heroic individuals who valiantly assisted at the accident scene in trying to save Sean's life. Also, a special thank you to the many teacher who had a strong impact on Sean, especially Mrs. Carla Ryan, Mr. Gazitano and Mr. G.
