Ruth Joy (Johnson) Pollock, 83, of Chadwicks, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Hospital.
Ruth was born in Long Island, New York on May 4, 1935, a daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Pelton) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Long Island. She was once married to John F. Pollock, Sr. Ruth was retired but had worked for the City of Utica where she was employed as a Crossing Guard. She was a member of St. Joseph-St. Patrick Church, Utica.
Ruth is survived by five daughters and their spouses, Joan Moore, Ruth O’Neil, Rachelle Gagnon, Lori Pollock and Tabetha Pollock; three sisters, Betty Meringola, Dorothy Galbraith and Mildred Johnson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her son, John F. Pollock Jr., her former husband and two sisters, Clara and Joan.
A graveside service for Mrs. Pollock will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:30 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours.
