Dorothy Erhardt Cox, 87, of Utica passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Utica on October 23, 1928, a daughter of Abraham and Marie (Terrillian) Bellinger. On April 10, 1948 Dorothy married Fred Erhardt, a blessed union of 38 years until his death on October 4, 1986. On August 2, 1991 she was united in marriage to Edward Cox. Dorothy was a member of St. Peter's Church and the North Utica Seniors. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Edward, her three children, Peter Erhardt and wife, Donna, of Utica, Dorothy Gurdak and husband, Robert, of Utica and Joy Taylor and husband, James, of Rome, a son-in-law, Tom Yousey, of Lowville, step-children, Edward and Lois Cox, of Marcy, Richard and Cindy Cox, of South Lake, Timothy and Debbie Cox, of Marcy and James Cox, of NC, a sister, Elizabeth Bellinger, of Utica and a brother, Charles Bellinger and wife, Joyce, of Remsen. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Yousey in 2014 and a granddaughter, Wendy Erhardt. Mrs. Cox's funeral will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 at St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica are Sunday from 4-7. Burial in the West Schuyler Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Utica Senior Center in Dorothy's memory.
