Linda and I worked together at Mohawk Valley Community College for both my " tours of duty" as we called them. I would like to share a story that always made us smile when we talked about it. Linda was always perfectly attired, from her clothing to her perfectly coiffed hair. She took pride in her appearance and it showed, she always looks great! She had her hair done at the beauty salon and it always looked perfect. Many years ago, as things changed in the Registrar's Office, we decided to start taking registrations via the phone. When we told this to Linda, she responded, " I am NOT going to use head phones, that will mess up my hair!" She was dead serious. We never asked Linda to wear the headphones!! That was a testament to the respect she EARNED. She was one of the most dedicated employees in the office, if you asked Linda to do something, it was done:quickly, efficiently and most importantly, done correctly. In our office, we always call our staff members " Queens", the GPA Queen, the Inventory queen, etc. Linda was the Queen of many operations. At her retirement party, we did a bit of a roast. We gave her a certificate for many queenly responsibilities. When it was time for me to give her a crown, I took out a set of headphones instead. That generated a big laugh, most of all from Linda. She was a good sport! To Linda's family, I am so sorry for your loss. She was a great lady who loved you all so much. To the rest of us, we will miss her too for all her wonderful qualities. Rest in Peace, Linda.
