Mr. Scott "Funion" A. Ouimette, 54, of Whitesboro, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with his loving family by his side. Scott was born in New Hartford on July 3, 1962 the son of Thomas Ouimette. He was raised in NY Mills by his grandmother, "Grandma" Ruth Hensel and was a graduate of NY Mills High School. At one time, Scotty was owner and operator of Funions Bar in NY Mills. He was later employed with St. Mary's Church in NY Mills and most recently with UFCW and along with his loving companion, Renee, operated Old Brewhouse Pub and Grill in Utica. Scotty enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, boating and snowmobiling. He recently became an avid Utica Comets Fan and especially the Horton Room. He was of the Catholic Faith. Scotty is survived by his daughter, Kristyn Ouimette of NY City and her mother Maryann; his loving companion, Renee Mitsler of Whitesboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Samantha and Frank DeRiso of Oriskany; his nephew and Godson, Nicholas DeRiso of Oriskany; his niece, Anna Appler and her husband Steve of New Hartford and their children, God Daughter, Casey Appler and Steven Appler; two sisters-in-law, Dolly Golowski and Patricia Doggett both of NY Mills and special friends, Jim Newman of Deerfield and Jim Potrzeba and his wife Lori of Whitesboro and their sons, Matthew Potrzeba and Godson Michael Potrzeba; Also surviving are many friends to numerous to mention and his canine companion, Cuddles. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas and close friend, Jay Inman. Mr. Ouimette's funeral will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of The Sacred Heart and Saint Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa in NY Mills, where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. His interment will be held at the convenience of his family. Calling hours for family and friends are Wednesday, (today) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
