Obituary of Sean Patrick Lyons

Sean Patrick Lyons, 47, of Joshua, Texas, died November 22nd, 2020, at his home. He is the son of William and Maryellen (Bahr) Lyons. He was born August 13, 1973 at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. Sean attended Liverpool Central Schools and graduate from Holland Patent Central School in 1993. Sean joined the United State Navy and was aboard the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) serving on many tours. He and his ship toured through the Mediterranean, visiting Greece, France, Spain, Portugal and his favorite, Ireland. Upon leaving the service, Sean attended two years at Utica college, transferring to the University of Georgia at Athens. Here he graduated with his Bachelors in Business, Finance and Construction. He also attended the Auburn University for further training in building construction. Sean began working for Bennett Building Systems in Burleson, Texas, where after several years formed his own company, LCD Metal Buildings. Sean and his crew erected several churches, gymnasium, warehouses, buildings at Fort Hood, Texas and a school. Sean will be remembered for his interest in motorcycles, cars stereos and for rebuilding antique French Victrola's. Mostly his green thumb showed in the Bonsai trees and his fabulous orchids. Sean is survived by his mother, Maryellen Lyons, of Barneveld, one brother, Timothy W. Lyons of Utica and one sister, Melissa Lyons Cavo of Utica. He is survived by his aunt, Susan Lyons Payne (Richard) of Derwood, Maryland. Three uncles, Jonathan K. MacPherson (Trixie) of East Nassau, NY, Scott A. MacPherson of Barneveld and David E. MacPherson (Jennifer) of Denver, Colorado. Also, three nephews, Dhane D. Butler of Holland Patent and Raffaele and Gabriel Cavo of Utica. Sean was predeceased by his father, William J. Lyons. Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY is handling the calling hours and the church service. These will take place in the spring, as the family wants all to be safe and sound as this virus is spreading quickly. The family will notify relatives and friends to the time of the services for Sean.
